And every thing that was associated to love came to be associated to Valentine’s Day.

Heart, the symbol of love also became the symbol of Valentine’s Day. Red roses, most dear to Venus, the Roman Goddess of Love, also came to be associated to the day. Cupid, traditionally the Roman God of love with his bow and heart shaped ruby tipped arrow was also drawn in the Valentine’s Day’s symbols.
